Bulldog Golf Finishes 5th at the MSU Relays

It might not have been ideal weather conditions to spend the day at the golf course, but the Bulldogs did not let the gusty winds dampen their fun.

Especially, when the meet was the MSU Relays, one of the favorite tournaments for the Rolla Bulldogs and played at the Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course.

The Bulldogs came together taking 5th out of 23 teams and put two players in the top 10.

Bulldog Finish Top 5, Chancen Jordan 4th

Senior Chancen Jordan, the Missouri Western signee finished 4th overall on the day shooting a team best 73. Sophomore Canter Bahr, who was a State qualifier last year as a freshman, placed 10th with a 75.

As a team, the Bulldogs placed 5th overall with juniors Waylon Chapman shooting 78 and Dawson Caldwell shooting an 84, while freshman Wilson Giacomelli finished the day with an 86.

The event was won by Carl Junction who scored a 295.

The MSU Relays

The MSU Relays Golf Tournament has taken place for over 100 years known by different names and played on different courses. It has long been a tournament that the Bulldogs have circled on their schedule.

The tournament is hosted by Missouri State University, current home of former Bulldog Great, Channy Jordan, who was the medalist at this event in 2024. It’s played at the Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course in Springfield.

The course is a 6,162 yard par 70 that was designed to test the skills of golfers with their iron play. This year’s emphasis for the Bulldogs on their wedges, helped put them into contention with cutting down the putting distance on the challenging greens.
