JV Bulldog Track & Field Teams Compete at Waynesville JV Invitational

Tuesday the Bulldogs made the short trip down I-44 to participate in the 13 team Waynesville Junior Varsity Invitational. The Lady Bulldogs came in 3rd posting a team score of 92 behind first place Lebanon and 2nd place Marshfield.
The Boys JV squad finished 5th with a team score of 70 while Waynesville and Willard finished in first and second.
On the day, the Bulldogs had four first place finishes, three from the girls team and one on the boys side.
Bringing home first place for the girls was sophomore Shyla Spickler in the 100m Hurdles, freshman Sophie Blakely in the 1600m run and the 4x800m Relay Team of sophomore Carys Fleming, freshman Alana Mickem, Sophie Blakely, and freshman Eden Olds.
On the boys side, sophomore Andrew Clardy won the Discuss event.
Coach Cody Sneed was pleased with the performance as 27 athletes hit PRs on the day. “It was a great day to get times and marks for athletes who hadn’t competed yet, all while being close enough to home so family could come watch. We grew as a team, both mentally and physically.”
