Bringing home the Championship!

In what has to be the game of the year at all levels of the program, the Freshmen team show a ton of resilience in battling back from a 7 to 12 deficit.

But it wasn’t just the deficit they were facing in the bottom of the 7th inning. They were facing 2 outs with 2 runners on and down 5. The Bulldogs claw and fight their way back into the game. It was a single by Ty Jenkins that drove in the winning run leading to the Championship versus Cap City, 13-12.

Head Coach Ken Hohe and the Varsity Bulldogs were able to make it back in time to cheer on the freshmen squad. Coach Hohe was excited to see the resiliency, heart and determination from the young Bulldogs.

Post RBI celebration for the Bulldogs!

In the post game Coach Hohe made sure the team understood how he felt. “Too many great plays, great moments, great games to single out 1 or 2, so Game Balls for all of our 9th graders and all 3 of our coaches!”

Coach Hohe went on to thank the Varsity players who took time out of their nights to come and support the team from the dugout and then later storming the field after the win. This is what building a program is about.

Coach Hohe closed with these thoughts that this team probably don’t remember it happening at the time, but has sure to have witnessed it in stories and replays, “The game tonight reminded me of a certain Cardinals game some 15+ years ago with Joe Buck saying,

"See you tomorrow night!"”
