Saturday’s Class 5 Sectional 3 State meet brought together some power house schools from Southwest Missouri. The Boys squad finished second at Districts behind District Champions Ozark and qualified in 14 events.
The Boys Bulldogs squad finished 4th in the State Sectional behind Nixa, Webb City and Ozark.
Of the 19 events that made it to Sectionals, there are 7 that have moved on to the State Track Meet to be held next Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th in Jefferson City at Adkins Stadium.
Freshman Grace Fontenot followed up her District Champion performance in the Pole Vault with a Sectional Championship to punch her ticket to the State Meet. Her jump was the 49th best jump in the State this season.

There was a school record that fell on the day and it wasn’t a question of if this relay team would break the record, but simply the question of when. The boys 4x200m relay team is made up of junior Jay Loos, sophomores Bennett Duehning, Cruz Wilkins and Aaron Stallworth. They had been flirting with the record throughout the last half of the season and were able to break it by 0.2 seconds.
This same group of boys advanced to State in the 4x400m relay finishing 3rd with the 27th fastest time in the state this season and setting a PR by almost 1 second but still 3.5 seconds off the school record.
Sophomore Cruze Wilkins continues his impressive season by also qualifying in the 400m.

Senior Cameron Martensen, the Grand Valley State signee, heads back to the State meet for the 4th time in both the 1600m and 3200m runs.
