Lady Bulldogs Advance with Dominant Performance over New Haven

After stopping their 3 game losing skid with a big home win last week against California, the Lady Bulldogs, now 11-6, kept up the resurgence with a 56 to 21 blow-out of New Haven in the opening round of the Hermann Invitational.
Semifinal action continues tonight as Rolla, who is the #2 seed, takes on #3 seed Liberty out of Wenzville at 5:30pm at Hermann High School.
Lady Bulldogs Start Strong
The Lady Bulldogs came out of the gate on a mission and they did not let up. A dominant 16-4 first quarter where the Lady Bulldogs pounded the ball inside and the Shamrocks had no answer.
Coach Parker was pleased with the performance of his team. “They did a great job of coming out strong and controlling the tempo right out of the gate and it was a strong defensive performance”
The Lady Bulldogs continued to attack the basket and lock up the New Haven shooters taking a 31 to 8 lead into the break.
Lady Bulldogs Finish Strong
The 3rd quarter resulted in a change of pace for the Lady Bulldogs. With 5'10” So guard Madison Hutton and 5’8” Sr guard Mariah Watkins knocking down a couple fo 3’s in the quarter, it provided an even greater opening in the paint, forcing New Haven to foul. The Lady Bulldogs went 8 for 9 from the free throw line in the quarter. New Haven had their best offensive performance of the game knocking down 2 3’s of their own on their way to an 11 point quarter.
The Lady Bulldogs finished the 4th quarter off in style holding New Haven to 2 points in the turbo clock quarter. The Lady Bulldogs owned the boards once again pulling down an astonishing 20 offensive rebounds. The game was highlighted with a double-double by 5'10” Fr guard Bella Cambell who finished the game with 14 points and 14 rebounds, 9 of which were offensive rebounds.
The Lady Bulldogs finished with a 56 to 21 victory over New Haven and will play tonight at 5:30pm against Liberty Wentzville. The game will be streamed live on RoMoAthletics YouTube page and you can watch replays on the Game Day Feed.
The Wrap Up
The Lady Bulldogs were led in scoring by Watkins and Cambell, each with 14 points.
Hutton finished with 9 points and 5 boards while 5’10” Fr forward Rylee Anderson also contributed 9 points. 5’7” Fr guard Addy Deremo continues to get comfortable in her starting varsity role as she finished the night with a well-rounded 7 points, 6 steals, and 5 assists.
