Bulldogs Bats are Too Much for the Dutchmen

The Rolla Bulldogs traveled to Owensville to take on the Dutchmen on Tuesday, March 23rd and the Bulldogs made sure to pack extra bats for the bus ride. The Bulldogs unloaded for 13 runs on 15 hits as they cruised to a 13-3 victory, moving to 2-1 on the season.
Racking Up the Hits
On a night where there were some big performances at the plate, none were bigger than that by senior shortstop Jenson Thomas. The Angelo State signee drove in four runs on 4 for 4 hitting and scored 3 times.
But Thomas wasn’t the only one with big offensive numbers.
Senior third baseman and Illinois College signee, Riker Snodgrass also went 4 for 4, with 4 RBIs and scored a run.
The Bulldogs had three players go 2 for 3 at the plate.
The Nebraska signee, senior center fielder Colton Petersmith scored 3 times and also had a walk. Juniors Blaine Sbabo and Chase Hudson also were 2-3 with each one scoring a run. Sbabo also had an RBI.
Petersmith and Thomas each stole 4 bases as the Bulldogs racked up 13 in total.
Coach Ken Hohe was happy to see those runs piling up after a challenging first weekend. “Offensively we were able to use our legs and athleticism to constantly take the extra base. Jenson Thomas and Riker Snodgrass were awesome, combining for 4 runs and 8 RBIs.”
Bulldog Pitching Contained the Dutchmen
Hudson earned the win for Rolla Varsity Bulldogs. The righty allowed one hit and three runs (one earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking five.
“As a coaching staff we thought Chase Hudson did an excellent job making his first career varsity start. He threw well the first 2 innings, allowing us to build a lead.”
Senior Landen Richter, the Missouri State-West Plains signee, came on in relief and pitched two and a thirds scoreless innings, giving up one hit, a walk, and striking out two.
“Landen Richter did a great job coming in as a reliever throwing strikes.”

Bulldog JV Pick Up No-Hit Shutout for Opening Game Victory
It was the opening game for the Rolla Bulldogs JV squad and they made the most of their opportunity to hit the diamond.
Sophomore Kyllian Ace threw a 4 inning no-hitter, striking out 8 and walking 1 batter.
Offensively, Fr. Westin Richards went 1-2 at the plate with a walk and drove in 2 runs. Driving in the other runs were sophomore. Connor Hirtz who went 1 for 2 with a walk and freshman Quentin Girondo who went 1 for 2 on the day.
Coach Hohe was pleased with the performance of the junior varsity team. “We had a lot of nerves but were able to push through & won the season opener.”
